sHOw

Song Bio

Let me tell you a little about my recent track, "sHOw" (haha funny title, I know).  In reality, she was a hoe, but I guess she won because she got a song.  I wrote this song in Jan 2022 while I was in my basement struggling with the fact that my girlfriend moved on from me to my best friend in the matter of a few days.  While I was picking my pawn shop guitar, I was just singing my mind. That's when the hook was born.  "Woah, how in the world did I fall for such a hoe?" It was a genuine question I was asking myself.  So, what better thing to do with my time than write a story of this absolutely messed up relationship? The song's lyrics were basically done in a matter of minutes, as if the words had been festering in my mind waiting to spill all over my notebook.

Fast forward a couple months and I'm living in Nashville, Tennessee attending a music school that I should not have qualified for.  The name of the school was the Contemporary Music Center, where student artists from colleges across the country would write multiple page essays/resumes to apply to learn about the modern music industry.  All instructors had experience in the field of the modern day industry, and students were able to work with big names throughout the semester before ultimately going on a Midwest tour to baptize us into the touring artist lifestyle.  Students would have to pitch their original songs to their instructors to see if they could play on the tour; this is where I pitched my track "sHOw."  It was a favorite of instructor Ric Robbins, known as DJ Form, and with that "sHOw" was the closer of our Midwest tour.

After shows, fans would constantly ask where they could stream the song, but at this point my track hadn't been produced further than a demo for the tour band to learn. So, I reached out to DJ Form and drummer/producer Luke Dejaynes to see if they could help me out. Sure enough, they pulled through and helped me create the track that has been released on all the streaming platforms.

At this point, I am an alumni of the semester long school, and learning to promote my music myself by getting a business admin degree with a marketing minor at Spring Arbor University in Michigan.  I play small gigs with my 'motley crew' of a band that I met in Nashville, and plan to continue this journey of show-business until I'm selling out stadiums.  I know I have a long way to go and the name Luke LaPrad currently means nothing to the music industry, but I'll make it. Watch me.
